C/D rides are longer and faster paced with greater elevation gain than regular C rides. Rides can be 60+ miles in distance, with an average pace of 17-20 mph. Riders are encouraged to practice working in a paceline wherever possible on flats, with average speeds being higher or lower, depending on terrain and how much climbing is involved. Climbing can vary quite a bit, but may range from 4000-8000 ft depending on riders' goals.
Join C/D rides to train for other cycling events! Ride leader is happy to design/develop routes to accommodate riders' goals: e.g. speed, climbing, length of saddle time, etc! Whatever is clever!
The ride leader will post the ride details on the Ride Notification Email List prior to the ride.
Also check out the Ride Classification Descriptions if you want more details about the posted pace and terrain.
